Ever day-dreamed about being a free-spirited gypsy? Taking to the road, following the sunshine and the spirit of adventure...? Great! A campervan holiday is all this and more but first, here are a few simple tricks to ensure the reality lives up to the romance...

Home-Sweet-Home: Bring along comforts like big cosy blankets and cushions. You can even add a little decoration - maybe hang a dream catcher & a few postcards with some ribbon...

You don't have to rough it! Take a few pampering goodies. If you have electric hook-up the opportunities for grooming are endless - hairdryer, straighters - pack em' in!

Squeaky Clean Camper The best advice I was ever given - always wear flipflops in the showers. Also, wander across to the shower area in a 3-quarter length dressing gown that you can just slip on and off. Replace your big, fluffy, oversized beach towel with a nice medium sized version - much more manageable. Take minature toiletries to the shower and leave the refills back at base-camp!

Dining In Keep it simple! A foil based disposable BBQ is a must-have for sizzlin' sausages at sunset. Only keep the most essential supplies and buy the rest as you go. A nice little enamel basin makes trips to the washhouse (or the loch-side) much easier. If at all possible, recycle your rubbish and always follow good camper etiquite - but of course!

Entertainment Electric hook-up means you can take a laptop/DVD player. Looking for a real escape from modern life? Books. On the road, there's much more time to just sit in the sun or cosy up in the van, so if you've been meaning to read more, now's your chance! Music. Sitting by the fire with a guitar-playing companion is campervan heaven...
...and don't forget to create a road trip playlist!!!
Top 5 recommendations:-
Moby - Extreme Ways, James Taylor - Country Roads,
James Lowe - Moodswings & Roundabouts, Dixie Chicks - Taking The Long Way Round and Roddy Frame -Western Skies

On The Go Travel flasks for tea & coffee are great - less stops to refuel! Have you made your road-trip playlist? Sat Nav - a wonderful guide but don't give it your absolute trust! Pocket sized language books are handy if you're don't know the local lingo. We also love guide books like the Cool Camping series which suggest off-the-beaten-track alternatives to big characterless sites. But beware, some of the very best camping spots are reserved for tents only :(
Now you're ready for your free-wheelin' pampered camper adventure!!!
